Analyzing Sustainable Practices in Engineering Projects: A Systemic Approach

The work of an engineer involves the conceptualization, design, and implementation new improved artifacts. However, what sets engineering apart from other professions is direct responsibility engineers to think critically design innovative solutions solve complex problems in social systems. Unfortunately, often do not consider dynamics environment or cultures that will receive them, leading obsolescence due lack technical knowledge maintenance repair. This exacerbates disruptive power technology culture society, a gap education needs be addressed. Critical theories attempt reformulate teaching practice social-environmental contexts vulnerability, utilizing systemic models anticipate based on possible scenarios. these mental professional engineers, relying mostly educational studies. To address this gap, article explores novel approach problem sustainability mindset by understanding characteristics structures systems conveying it through causal loop diagrams. results identify loops reinforce affect application sustainable practices, which can used as leverage points within structure improve performance interest students development endeavors promote more professionals working with mindset.
